Great results

On another hot summers day, (how often do we get to say that) Milford CC posted some great results!

The 2nd XI secured a great win with only 10 men. Adam Sales, featuring in his first game this season produced an excellent knock of 22 to help the team home.

Not to be outdone the 1st XI produced a winning draw. A few more overs and the win could have been theirs.

Great efforts team!

Daz Dazzles

A superb batting display from Darren yesterday on his return to the 1st XI. He scored 94, with some lusty blows and some great touch shots to compliment. Well done Daz!

Match Report – 1st XI Vs Balckheath

On a scorching summers day, Blackheath put Milford into the field and immediately put the bowling to the sword forcing an early tactical change.  Some steady bowling from R. Hawkins and S. Whitmore slowed the run rate and produced some crucial wickets, with Blackheath setting a formidable 253 to win.

Milford went about their task steadily with several of the top order contributing both time and runs at the crease.  Some late over fireworks from J. Laney (25) helped take the score to a respectable 185 for 8 and securing the draw.

Match Report – 1st XI Vs Shalford

Shalford elected to bat first and and made an impressive start.  The only slip up came from D. Gregorm but the rest of the Shalford top four were in imperious form taking the away side to 231 for 2.

Shalford continued their good form with the ball pinning Milford back, slowing down their run chase.  A superb act of defiance from T. Murray, making 64 not out, helped see Milford home to bring the match to a draw.

Match Report – Milford 1st XI vs Pepper Harrow 1st XI

Win for Milford 1st XI.

Both sides wanted to bat on a lovely summer’s day in Milford. Peper Harow won the toss and batted. Kukla and Haycox kept taking wickets in a lively opening spell. Only the lower order hitting from West and Saunders could earn a respectable score above 100.

In reply, Peper Harow tried everything but good batting by Toby Goodship with good support from Doug Cole and Kevin Goodship saw Milford home.
