Match Report – 1st XI Vs Chiddingfold 2nd XI

Success for Milford 1st XI.

Chiddingfold lost a crucial toss and were put into bat by Milford on a drying track. Early inroads were made by Askew and Laney putting Chiddingfold in trouble at 1 for 3. A strong partnership of over 50 by Malpas Sands & Thorpe turned the game in their favour but after they were out Chiddingfold could only manage 119 all out, with Matt McConnell taking a wicket on his Milford debut.

In reply, Bertie Probyn started well and looked good until he lost his wicket. Crumbie and Gwilliam then took Milford to 48 for 1 with some good shots and some good misses. A mini collapse then took Milford to 77 for 5 but step forward the experienced Mike Payne leading the charge to the end joined by the stylish Sam Dick.

A good win for Milford against a very competitive side.
