Match Report – 1st XI Vs Shalford 1st XI

On a clear sunny day cricket got underway with Milford against Shalford, Milford winning the toss and electing to field.  Milford put on some early pressure bowling tight lines, restricting Shalfords run rate.    Unsworth stepped up for Shalford, despite giving Milford some chance he pushed on to top score with 90.  A blazing display from Shalford number ten Gover helped to add a quick 26 to their final score.  Shalford finished with 185 for 9.

Milford got off to a slow reply but the middle order upped the pace making inroads to the target including a quick 37 from Gwilliam and great support from Norris, Payne and Murray.  Good bowling and regular wickets from Shalford halted the assault with Milford managing to defy their attack and hang on for the draw.
